Not all students benefit from online sessions, but it is a practical approach to achieving daily reading goals.

My success with moving a student up one grade level has been accomplished by providing 2-3 hours a week for 8 months. This success includes students with learning challenges.

Generally, students Kindergarten through 2nd Grade do well with 60-minute sessions with a 5 minute “brain break”. Older students can work for 90 minutes. I prefer to be flexible with students if time allows. On good days they may feel like working 65 minutes, other days they may need a longer break, a physical activity or shorter session. It’s important to be sensitive to a child’s rhythm especially when they are learning challenged.
