Using Numerology for Personal Mastery

“Personal Mastery is more than just competence and skills or spiritual growth. It is about creating a desired future and moving toward it.” Peter Senge

"Personal mastery is about generating and sustaining creative tension and living comfortably with tension." Peter Senge The 5th Discipline

Article by Joelle K. Jay for CEO’s at INC “Personal mastery is that pot at the end of the rainbow that most people are trying to achieve, whether they're first starting out in their careers or if they're successful entrepreneurs or CEOs.”

My favorite definition of personal mastery is by entrepreneur Ajaero Tony Martins; “Personal mastery is about loving yourself and expressing your gifts to its fullest.” This sounds so lovely and it is what I aspire to do. Just the words ‘personal mastery’ makes me want to accomplish such a thing. Words like, integrity, focus, and ‘for the greater good’ come to mind. A movie like “The Help”, will get me fired up. I want to do that, I say. I want to inspire people to be kinder to themselves and to one another.

Does it inspire you too?

I have broken Personal Mastery down into 3 parts: physical, mental and spiritual.

  • Physical Awareness
  • Mental Intention
  • Spiritual Evolution

This is a lot to consider. We are well on our way to personal mastery just by way of consideration. For me, putting physical mastery first, is on purpose- having a sound physical body is a foundation. It was the inspiration behind my first book. Respecting your body, becoming aware of all its joys and creating a deep profound connection is where it started for me.

This perception that body is first come from my 1 Life Path energy. I perceive so much through my physical body and in movement. How does this list of physical, mental and spiritual, feel to you? I’d be interested in knowing your perception and how each life path would perceive it differently because each life path has it’s own unique challenges.

Which of the 3 parts of Personal Mastery do you think is more important?

Physical Awareness
Mental Intention
Spiritual Evolution

Going back to Martins definition, ‘loving yourself and expressing your gifts to the fullest.” This is the gift numerology gave me. The ability to love myself more and see my talents.

Reviewing the prior posts (The ABC’s of Your 123’s, A through L at this point.) will give you some insight on your attributes in which you can use to love yourself more and well as seeing some of your talents. I provide you with some  free 'exercises', it is up to you to do the work.

I would love to hear about your journey to personal mastery.

How Tricia Gunberg uses Numerology to explain your Life Path

Your Life Path is the sum of all the digits of your date of birth. Numbers contain energy and when applied to things, provide meaning. They speak to you, much like music, at the soul level. When you align yourself with the numbers in your cart, amazing things happen.  Besides your date of birth, a date on the calendar, even your middle name can be defined using Numerology.

For example: 2017, when we add up all the digits we get a 10, adding it again we get a 1. The energy of the 1 is about new beginnings, uniqueness and a start of a new cycle. We had the first US president elected that had no military or political background- a unique first. #Metoo had started a unique approach to stopping sexual crimes.

Adding up all the numbers in your birthday until you get a single digit, gives us what numerologists call, a Life Path number. Most numerologist have you add all digit to a single digit like so:

What is your Life Path Tricia Gunberg.JPG

Much emphasis is put on the final digit, or Life Path. A search on “Life Path Number” yields 56,700,000 results. (Don’t confuse me with the other Numerologist Trisha G. from the UK, my name is spelled Tricia and I always include my last name; Gunberg. She discusses Master Numbers a bit more and does live YouTube discussions.) Dan Millman's book has  guided me from the beginning. He does an eloquent job of describing your life’s purpose. For example; “Individuals working 2 as their life purpose are here to clarify the limits of their responsibility and learn to work with others in a spirit of harmony, balance, and mutual support.” The 2 has the challenge of balancing their compelling sense of responsibility to others with their own inner needs. After working with 2’s, I recognized this challenge and in trying to explain Dan's statement I came up with this interpretation:

"Only say YES when asked and only if you love the task."
~Best advice for a Life Path 2, from Tricia Gunberg~

Through the many readings I have done over the last 8 years, I found the numbers that add together are just as important as the single digit Life Path number itself.   All of these numbers provide clarity, direction and focus for your life and goals. The biggest most important factor I have come to understand:

Numerology provides truth.

The truth about yourself. I refer to these truths as attributes. This is especially true for the aforementioned 2’s. Understanding themselves and finding that balance is so important.

“Know Thy Self”
Why?

It is important to know the truth about yourself because it creates harmony. For this reason I named my book: “Saying YES to Who You Are to Create Fitness”.  Knowing your truth can only create harmony if you say “YES” to it. Embracing who you are is necessary. It is in the resisting of who we are that creates problems and frustration. I didn’t come up with this concept, I just create tools to help us in this journey. Many gurus, including Eckart Tolle and Abraham Hicks teach this by telling us to accept the present moment.

In my book, your Life Path number is used to give you Health and Wellness guidance. See the sample below.  In a typical numerology reading with me, I use all the numbers of your Life Path. You could have 3, 4 or 5 numbers. I list your attributes, (your super powers)- you have many, a few of your challenges and your Health and Wellness guidance.

Here is an example of a reading for a 21/3

This is a Life Path 3, with the energy of all 3 different numbers: 2, 1 and 3 being important.

The suggested reading/study for the Life Path 21/3 or 12/3 is all three of the digits in 'Say YES to Who You Are to Create Fitness'. I have included the reading for the 2 Life Path, directly from my book, below. For a 21/3 or 12/3 Life Path, working with the 2 energy is important. For the rest of your numbers consult my book or schedule a reading with me.  By studying your word lists for each number, you can see which of the numbers give you the most challenges.

Since many of you have a 2 in your Life Path, I would like to share my guidance with you. You are beautiful sensitive soles and the world needs you. Taking care of yourself is step one in taking care of others.

2 Health and Wellness Path
You need exercise to release muscular tension, requires attention to breath and balance. Examples: yoga, Pilates, step aerobics, sex-ooh, this is tension releasing and deep breathing!  Include independent activities for yourself and above all choose what YOU like. Try uplifting movement with music, dancing, or deep breathing. Add beauty to your workout by choosing appealing colors and fabrics you wear to workout. Consider how you can beautify the surroundings. Include stretching and meditation every day.  If the idea of meditation does not appeal to you let me give you some tidbits. First, meditation does not have to be long. Secondly, it is not necessary to try to ‘clear your mind’. By putting your mind on one thing, you are doing a form of meditation. If your mind wanders, bring it back. Your mind will wander, this is not ‘failure’ on your part. Do not judge yourself when your mind does this. The awareness that your mind wandered is the work. Therefore, catching yourself when your mind wanders is what meditation is about. Here are some meditation ideas to get you started. Please try them.
Five Minute Meditation Ideas
·         Dry Brushing- before showering, use a dry brush on your entire body. Your goal is to keep your mind where your brush is (on your body) and offer positive thoughts with each brush stroke.
·         Forehead Down- on a desk or table, fold your arms on top of each other, placing your forehead on arms, scoot your chair back until comfortable. Breathe here until you feel complete.
·         Mind In Your Body- sit or lay comfortably, starting at your head, putting your mind in each body part as you make your way down your body. Stay in each body part as long as you like or until you feel a sensation.
·         I Love My Feet- before bed, massage your feet with lotion or oil. As you work, thank your feet for all they do for you.
·         Love My Hands- do this any time of the day, especially if you use your hands for work. Massage them and thank them for all the tasks they attend to.
I need to repeat, the exercise you choose needs to be something you want to do. You will soon see, it is in the choosing, you fail yourself. Let’s make this clear, pretend you only get one chance to choose. Imagine you can only pick one kind of exercise, only one. Close your eyes, take a few breaths and choose. Now, what did you choose? You can also know by choosing what it is you truly desire, in itself, is a lesson for you. You will not do anyone any good if you continue to make choices based on what others think or what others want.
Your only problem losing weight as a two, is when you create limits for yourself. If you only have thirty minutes to walk because your schedule is too full, you do not get the benefits of a sixty-minute walk. It is best if you allow yourself more time and stop when you feel like it. “Feeling” is the key here. When you allow yourself to feel, you will soon be able to use this as your guide and be true to yourself. Honoring yourself in this way will inspire much weight loss.
When twos make food choices, consider the area in which it is consumed. It is important the environment be peaceful to fully enjoy the meal. A better connection to the food will be made. Consider talking to your food. This might sound crazy, heck it looks crazy, but it creates a relationship. No need to talk out loud, only to pause for a moment to set an intention. Tell the food to nourish your body fully and to bring all the energy necessary. If you can create a loving relationship between your food and body, (balance) you will no longer struggle with your weight. This relationship is one of creating balance which is one of your lessons in life.

Affirmations: “My food goes into my body creating all the energy I need. I love my food and what it can do for my body.”

Understand the Life Path gives us just 2-5 of the numbers in our charts. So much more can be gleamed from other numbers, about 30 or so of them! Your life path is a good place to start though. I encourage you to explore all the ways to self-actualization. When you know you self, you will love and appreciate yourself more!

The ABC’s of your 123’s

K is for Kids

Using Numerology to support kids and parents

When an eleven-year-old smiled and hugged me after I told her what her super powers were, I was hooked. Numerology has a way of explaining yourself to yourself, which makes you smile on the inside and the outside. This is a blessing to everyone whom I have shared Numerology. Not only has it helped me write a book and create so much, it has helped me develop many important relationships. The most important one being the one with myself.

I often visualize myself being given this information when I was a kid. Would I have believed it? Would I think the adults around me were nuts if they told me I was going to be an author when my report card said ‘C’ in English? Or if my teacher Mr. Bode told me the Persuasive Speaking class was just a drop in the bucket?

No matter, even though I might have made a few different choices back then, I now realize how important telling people, all people, special things about themselves they may not ‘know’. Especially kids. Remember the famous “Blue Eyed Experiment” by teacher Jan Elliott? Yes, it was a social experiment on racism but, more importantly it showed kids will act based on how you treat them. Treat them like they are intelligent creatures that are kind and loving and they will be intelligent, kind and loving.  A more up to date example is the’ rice experiment’. First demonstrated by Dr. Emoto, using rice as the receiver, proved that the energy of your words can create a hostile environment.

So glad we have science behind us to prove how effective words are but, do you really need a scientist to tell you some words make you feel better than others?

Numerology gives us the vocabulary; the words children need to hear about themselves. I call these truths, super powers. Since strengths in a small child might not be obvious, Numerology can really help. It describes a person based on the day they were born. Each number has a vibration and when added together gives you meaningful information.

This example is from a book made for a child with the birthdate of June 7, 2015 (6/7/2015) which is considered a 21/3 Life Path.

Here is how we do the math: 6+7+2+0+1+5= 21

Adding each digit of the DOB, we get a 21, adding it again, we get 2+1=3 We write it like this: 21/3

“What a bright, creative and energetic child you have! Every human would benefit from a class that teaches how to express feelings in a direct, honest, and positive way. This will be especially important for your 21/3 child. Her extra sensitive nature will require her to express what she is feeling so those emotions don’t get trapped. Understand that some of what she is feeling could be a reflection of others and not her own. Sensitive people are often like sponges, absorbing other peoples’ feelings/emotions without realizing it. This is why it is important not to judge these feelings, as she may not know/understand where they came from.

Creative energy will need to be expressed just as the feelings/emotions.

Physical movement will help her in so many ways.

Her sensitivity (2 energy), uniqueness (1 energy) and independence (1 energy) will help her with her Creative Expression (3 energy)

2- Cooperation and Balance – give advice, take advice

1- Creativity and Confidence- abundance of energy demands movement and expression

3- Expression and Sensitivity- Sharing feelings in a direct, positive, and honest manner to uplift others

Here is a formula to use to figure out any Life Path number:

(Month) + (Day) + (Year) = (Life Path Number)

(______ +______) + (______ +______) + ( _____ + ______ + ______ + ______) =  _______

______ + ______ = ______

In a case where you add those two digits and get another compound number (August 4, 1969 when added together equal 37, 3+7 equals 10, this Life Path Number is written 37/10) leave it like that. This is for simplicity sake. For more information schedule a reading with me or refer to my book, "Say Yes to Who You Are to Create Fitness.”

So how can parents and kids use Numerology?

I have taken some time to simplify Numerology for kids and would like to share with you a few of the activities I have created. If you would like to purchase a personalized book for a loved one, it will be specific to that child. The children’s Numerology books are fun to make, I call them “About Me” and are personalized with the child’s own pictures. Both kids and adults/caregivers get a lot from working the activities provided in the book.

The first exercise begins with discussing feelings, then moved into how to deal with the feelings. Children with a 1(Confidence) will be very independent or be on the other side of the confidence spectrum; so needy and insecure you can’t leave them alone for five seconds.  A child with a 2 (Cooperation) might have trouble sharing and this could cause some upset feelings. Understand it is their nature to be sharing and cooperative. The energy of a 3 (Expression) could cause a little one to have a meltdown when they cannot communicate what’s going on for them.

This first exercise is great for toddlers. They are just getting their chops and do not have the words for what they are feeling. Hell, who are we kidding, most adults cannot articulate their feelings. (Don’t worry I do not cuss in any of my products I make for kids.)

Here is the idea.

Take the birthday and find out their Life Path Number as shown above. This exercise is especially important if a 3 is present. The energy of a 3 is self-expression. Consequently, expressing themselves will likely be a challenge. This factor alone prompted me to create these activities for children.

With the help of an adult, this first exercises about feelings, gives children the opportunity to discuss how they feel. For younger children, adults draw faces into the circles. As the children learn to work a dry erase marker, allow them to draw on the face and discuss how they feel.

Faces for emotion circles About Me.JPG

I feel happy.       I feel tired.      I feel upset.      I feel okay.      I feel sad.

The circles are for children to draw a face or circle a face of how they are feeling.

This list of activities is laminated, and children use a wipe off marker to circle or draw face.

These statements can help you get the conversation started. Most toddlers understand what you are telling them, the language they have is what limits their responds.

Ideas for expression:

“I share my feelings.”

“Mommy and Daddy help me express my feelings.”

“I say, Mom, today I am feeling ______.”

“Dad, when that happens it makes me feel _______.”

“If I have pains in my body, it might be stuck feelings.”

This last statement is especially for the sensitive 2’s and 3’s. (Refer back to the Life Path number you calculated.) As an adult, you know stress causes headaches, stomachaches and other problems. Same as with children, they need your help to make the connections.  This next excersie gives you a plan as what to do when the child has decided how they feel. Since feelings can have a continuum extending ‘happy’ is so nice, as is switching from ‘upset’ to ‘okay’.

Teaching children they have a choice about how they feel is important. In this activity they are given a choice. These choices are based on the energy of the 1. All children need to move, a child with a 1 in their numerology needs much more than the average amount of movement. This same child needs time alone as well. It might seem strange to leave a child alone but, in small amounts, it builds on their independence, gives them confidence, builds trust (you will come back) and helps them regroup.

This next activity helps kids with making choices.

As a childcare provider for 30 years, I encourage you not to underestimate the child’s ability to understand this activity. Choice is a powerful thing. Start with two or three of the choices below to help kids switch gears.

When I _________________________ (fill in the blank), I feel better.

About Me When I feel.JPG

The above activity has popped into my head for myself. Often, I consider what I can do to feel better and consequently, my options. This has been a helpful step for me. My ‘feel’ better choices may not always be for my greatest and highest good (a beer or two) but, I get credit for being aware of my feelings and making the choice to change them.

For older children I have created crossword puzzles and art work for them to work with the attributes they discover by doing their own numerology.  Here is an example using a child with the Numerology of a 19/10.

Numerology for Teens Cross Word by Tricia GunbergJPG

With attributes in hand and some guidance, a tween or teen, can build their own power statements using art. Wouldn’t you have loved a puzzle or project that was all about you? My mom purchased a book for me when I was a child that was personalized for me. It used our street name, names of my friends, pets and neighbors- it was such a kick, I loved that book!

This activity for older children, uses flowers. In the Numerology book for teens called “#YouRock” a child can create their own garden. Here is what that activity looks like:

Numerology for Kids by Tricia Gunberg.JPG
You Rock flower garden by Tricia Gunberg.JPG

I hope you have a child in your life you can share this with. Children are our future, they deserve our love and support. They deserve a safe place to express themselves. They deserve knowing they can accomplish anything using their natural talents and attributes. They deserve to know these talents and be told over and over until they understand their truth. They deserve to know their feelings are valid.

Please let me know how I can help if you are looking to provide these activities for groups of children, I would love to help.
