Interviews to Awaken the Mind

~Interviews with Intuitives~

To provide guidance to those who are becoming familiar with their intuitive abilities this platform offers a look into how others have come to know and work with their abilities. The universal energy (available to everyone) that is referred to here as “Intuitive”, comes in many forms. We will describe and discuss them here.

This month I welcome Dr. Michele A. Zebrowitz, Chiropractor and owner of Alpenglow Chiropractic in Durango, Colorado.  In attempting to explain what approach Dr. Michele uses to do her work, a quote comes to mind from Albert Einstein (33/6). “We cannot solve our problems from the same thinking that created them”. She understands the mind body connection and uses this intelligence in conjunction with her intuitive abilities to help her clients.  In Numerology terms she is a 35/8. This energy encompasses creativity, power, discipline, and an awesome mental capacity. The life path of a 35/8 is to apply their power and abundance in service to the world. Dr. Michele seems to have a handle on that. Interestingly, Edgar Cayce was a 35/8 too!

Tricia: Aloha Michele, Thanks for taking the time to be with us. Could you share your intuitive abilities and how you first experienced them?
Dr. Michele: It runs in the family. My mother had talked often about dreams, she could predict when people would die. When I’d stray from my path (of healing) something would knock me over my head. Eventually, I was led to studying Chiropractic which I found fit me well.
Tricia: Could you elaborate on the “hit me over the head” moments? Were you given signs that you ignored until you were “hit over the head” or was it something else?
Dr. Michele: Yes, the signs were there, but as I strayed from my path, the Universe did what was needed to get me back on.  Being a hard-headed individual, I suppose I required big "knocks" to get my attention....usually physical in nature.  These include a debilitating back injury, a nasty concussion, a shoulder injury, and a few others along the same line.
Tricia: How do you apply your intuitive abilities to your Chiropractic practice? In your daily life?
Dr. Michele: Intuition is definitely a requirement for the techniques I use in my practice, although I ultimately use muscle testing to confirm. There are flowcharts to help with this, but ultimately, it has taken years of studying and researching to discover how physical, emotional, and metaphysical "stresses" create patterns in our lives.  As far as daily life, I believe we all use our intuition....but some people don't listen to it!  What about that person who you know sucks the energy out of you just by being in the same room....the friend who only calls you when she needs something.....or the phone rings and you just know who it is.  I think that if more people would take the time to listen to their intuition, the world would be less hectic
Tricia: I agree and appreciate the reminder to listen. Your advertisement in EPIC states “Dr. Michele is an intuitive and energetic-based chiropractor who facilitates inner and outer change through traditional and non-traditional modern chiropractic care.” Can you share how you went from not sharing your intuitive abilities out of fear to putting it in print?
Dr. Michele: Wow, good question.  Adults suffer from this 'epidemic' of worrying about what other people think.  I model my practice after my mentors who have been helping people for many, many years.  One of my mentors in Georgia practices NET - Neuro-Emotional Technique. Personally, that helped me lose the "worry." I use a little NET in my practice, but mostly I use The Emotion Code with great results.  To answer your question, I don't waste time worrying about what other people think.  I have been described as a metaphysical chiropractor in print, too.  I feel like it attracts people to me who know I can offer some support, while deterring others who just want to be "cracked."

Tricia: Thank-you Dr. Michele for getting over your fear and for helping to create my Utopia; a world where every Doctor is concerned with the mind body connection, not just a “fix”. Also, Mahalo for your time.

Dr. Michele offers chiropractic adjustments and energy sessions in Durango.  She is available for house calls within an hour radius. Distance healing sessions are also available via Skype, phone, or even email.

Embrace (brace too) yourself with Numerology

In previous post I mention the importance of knowing who you are and where you are going. Using a myriad of ways (Astrology, Numerology, Archetypes, Readings, Meditation, and Dream Analysis) to learn about myself has been very helpful. Here is some insight I have gained from the perspective of Numerology. We will look at pinnacles and personal years.

Pinnacles and personal years are the energy you are working with in that set time in your life. It is especially helpful to know when these are occurring. Pinnacles last several years, varying in length. We each have four based on your date of birth. Personal year is determined by adding all the numbers of your current birthday.  If your next birthday is 11/30/2014 = 12, you will start a 3 personal year.

For instance a 7 is introspective so during a 7 pinnacle you will feel drawn to spend an increased amount of time by yourself. A family member might think you are rejecting them or could think you are depressed. If you know it is a “7” you can give everyone a heads up. During a 9 personal year, some things will come to an end. You can kick and scream or you can understand that things are leaving in order to make room for the new fabulous things that will start in the 1 year that is coming up.

My pinnacles and personal years are as follows:

Birth – 2005  (3 Pinnacle Period) The creative energy of 3 was ever present in my young life. Poetry in high school, interior design, decorating cakes, planning parties, creating displays, closet writing, etc.  The lack of interest in school when I was young (3 energy) was ever present. I didn’t start college until 1998.

In 2004, a “9” personal year, sold house in Wisconsin to make roots in Durango. I had just given up my old way of finding love (9 energy). Stepping out of the box helped me find my current husband of 6 years.

2005-2014  (11 Pinnacle Period) After a divorce in (’01), graduating college (‘03) and working 50-60 a week,  I began to deeply question everything. The energy of “11” coming upon me, a meditation/reflection in 2004 brought me to Durango, CO. That soul searching lead me to many great people and ideas that catapulted me onto my spiritual path. Not surprisingly, I moved to Hawaii in 2013 to kick off my next pinnacle. Note the almost exact 9 year cycle here.

2013, a “9” personal year, many things fell away but I was aware and had been preparing for it. 2014 is beginning a “1” personal- exciting as many new things will come my way this year.

2014-2023  (5 Pinnacle Period ) Change, Change, Change. Recall that episode of The Brady Bunch when the kids thought they would lose a recording contract because Peter’s voice was changing? It was painful and beautiful.  If a person has not embraced a non-controlling attitude by the time 5 energy comes around, watch out. For me, moving five times over six months in 2014 set my tail to spinning. Current changes in job, income, travel, weather, and relationships keep me on my toes. Most changes are in my own best interest; fun, new and interesting but they can still be stressful! Knowing that freedom and discipline are also the energy of 5, I am aware of which areas of my life need a little more discipline.  Excuse me while I go hide the homemade goodies my mother sent.

2023 will be a “1” personal year so it matches the energy that my life will again be charged with many new beginnings.

2023- until end of life (6 Pinnacle Period ) Ahh, the thought of 6 as the last phase of my life is a comfort. Home again, home again. Love, domestic happiness, success and security. I better get on with enjoying my current 5 energy, it will be gone before I know it. Good thing I embrace being a domestic goddess. I will have time to slow down and take on domestic responsibility come 2023. The next 9 years is slotted for adventure!

If you would like to know a little more about yourself as outlined above, please schedule a reading. I would be happy to help.

Mahalo for the well wishes during the storm. All is well on this side of the island.

Love and Light

Tricia

August Guidance

Horoscopes offer some hint as to what is to come based on our birth date. Numerology takes this concept a step forward and offers valid insight on life challenges based on our birth number. It is when we resolve those challenges that we get closer to our true potential. I offer you a bit of this insight here. First, in general terms, and then in more specific terms based on your birth number. A “Numeroscope” if you will.

August being the 8th month has the energy of abundance and power. These exciting attributes can have two sides, so a personal examination might be in order. Let’s take the “back to school” vibe (teacher energy of 4 twice!) that August has and check in with ourselves to see how we’d grade our inner abundance and power. Here is a quick test:

What pushes your buttons? What twirls your skirt? Which foods treat you the best?  What exercise suits your body? What type of work benefits you? How much alone time do you need?(Those that are laughing at this concept really need to check in!) Do you allow people to be themselves? (Freedom's List) Do you honor your own uniqueness?

For those of you who want to do a little homework on those questions check out my Numerology page or book a session with me. Also there will be more on self-actualization in blogs to come.

For now, use your Numeroscope below as a starting point-

To calculate your Life Path Number, add all the digits of your birthdate until you get a single digit. For example November 30, 1975 is calculated: 1+1+3+1+9+7+5 = 27,  2+7 = 9. This person’s Life Path Number is a 9 so they would scroll down to "9" to find the Numeroscope message. For those working the 10, 11 or 12 path, I have added those.

  1. Spend time outdoors. Meditation is almost automatic when surrounded by nature. Smell, touch, listen, linger, appreciate, slow down, en-JOY!
  2.  Create balance within when you make necessary dietary changes. Do you need: detox, nutritionist, reduce/eliminate chemicals/processed foods, increase veggies?
  3.  Is there a female in your life that needs your attention? Healing or en-JOY-ing this relationship benefits your entire life. (note: could be yourself if you're female)
  4. Practice only saying "yes" to the things that you really want to do. Coming from love and being true to yourself makes for a good role model.
  5. Is there a boy in your life or other child that needs your attention? Ask your angels to guide you.
  6. Keep tending to your positive thoughts, you will reap the rewards.
  7. Use positive affirmations to attract what you desire. Doing so will also create optimism, faith and self- confidence.
  8. Tune into your physical self. Ask your body what it needs and give it unconditional love. Pay attention to your hunches and intuitive guidance regarding our health.
  9. What skills and talents do you have that need to be polished and shared?  Accomplish something new with what you chose to hone.
  10. Prepare for new life coming your way! Be it a child, idea, project or a gift.
  11. Keep your thoughts positive, believe in yourself. Let go of all your worries. Your guides are with you as your positive thoughts manifest.
  12. Check your diet. Would you benefit from eating more organic veggies, fruits and nuts? Ask your guides to help and send you support, don't go it alone.

Just like the number 8 you possess an incredible amount of abundance and power. Tap into that power by learning something new about yourself this month!

Love, Light and Learning!

Tricia

Interviews to Awaken the Mind (I AM)

 ~Interviews with Intuitives~

To provide guidance to those who are becoming familiar with their intuitive abilities this platform offers a look into how others have come to know and work with their abilities. The universal energy (available to everyone) that is referred to here as “Intuitive”, comes in many forms. We will describe and discus them here.

This month I welcome Michelle Gabbe, PhD, author, Personal Development Coach, and editor at Conscious Life News. Her approach to Coaching is a combination of EFT (tapping) skills Akashic Record reading, NLP, Ho'oponopono, and PS-TEC. Michelle's Numerology is a 37/10. Her “3” energy is unmistakable in her ability to express herself. Awareness of her evolving intuitive wisdom is that “7” energy working. Michelle is truly creating higher forms of healing, beauty and inspiration that is her life path.  After living in Hong Kong and getting much of her spiritual training there, she has stopped briefly in Hawaii and will soon to be on her next adventure to the mainland.  Michelle and I share the same Numerology as well as the initial reluctance to talk our intuitive abilities. I’m honored she is in my life and excited that she is here with us today.

A common thread in my interviews and with conversations with intuitive people is their reluctance to talk about their abilities. A veteran of twenty years in health and healing, Intuitive healer Caroline Myss had this to say about it:
"...I did not understand myself well enough to pinpoint why I avoided any association with healing and clung to the professions of "writer" and "teacher" as if they were designer labels. Now, as I look back at that attitude, I have no doubt that my comfort with those labels was based on the fact that I never had to explain the occupation of writer and teacher, whereas describing myself as a medical intuitive always required a lengthy and exhausting description. It still does."
Quote from: A Mystic's Introduction to Healing

If Caroline Myss had a hard time explaining herself, it is no wonder the rest of us do too! But Michelle does a superb job describing her intuitive path!

Aloha and welcome Michelle, thanks for being here. Could you share your intuitive abilities and how you first experienced them?

My early understanding was that a person that truly had intuitive abilities could articulate them, write about them, explain then and teach them. Since I couldn’t do that I didn’t consider myself having any intuitive abilities. I think that the more I remove my own crap  the easier I can let more in. My training in Akashic records and reading about Edgar Casey inspired me to open up to the idea.

So now that you have been challenging answers for Akashic Records for several years, could you share how that is evolving? How do feel about it?

At first, I felt almost like a skeptic playing with a ouija board - secretly hopeful and excited, but also full of doubt! I put a number of restrictions on the readings - had to be done at a certain time of day, answers jotted down by hand, and I only addressed beings that were mentioned in the opening/closing prayer I'd found in a book, i.e the Lords, Masters and Loved Ones. It reminded me of the way I felt when praying to my idea of 'God' as a child: old wise dude high above in a skyward heaven generously extending some time to talk down to little old me. The initial readings took a long time, and felt stilted, probably because I was distractedly trying to critique and analyze the answers as they came. Eventually I started asking the Akashic Records Keepers about themselves and about what rules were genuinely important for my readings. They encouraged me to see their guidance regularly, and to remember that they are always there, not just when I've scheduled an official reading. More and more, I feel that these Akashic beings, which now include what I sense are spirit guides and angels and archangels, are gathered around me, and that the sounds of the answers are generated from a source that exists everywhere rather than just from above. They feel like the most loving, supportive group of friends! I no longer worry about whether or not the answers and guidance that I receive on behalf of clients is authentic and real, or that it will make sense to them. I simply wait until I feel strongly that I'm clear and capable of opening myself to receiving messages to the best of my ability that day. Trusting that the clients will find meaning in their reading allows me to relax and let the words flow freely.

I love how you described your relationship with your guides. You were saying that your training in Akashic records was just a guideline at first and you made it your own. Have you apply that philosophy in other ways? This could be a reason many people don’t explore Spiritual things, as they might do it wrong, what do you think?

I have an old pattern of setting high expectations for authoritative people and established ways of doing things. But when you put ideals on pedestals, they're bound to fall off. There has always been the initial assumption that everyone else knows more and can do it better that I can. If there wasn't a proven step-by-step method for how to do something, I was afraid to act. It held me back in writing, in communicating business presentations, the way I would conduct sessions - you name it. Now in my forties, what I'm finally realizing is that no one technique or dogmatic theory is superior to me and my ideas - the world is big enough to accommodate and honor the contributions of all of us. My nature is to question and fiddle with everything - from spiritual practices and parenting philosophies, to recipes and gardening methods - and nowadays I just run with it all. Whether or not my tweaking results in an actual improvement, I enjoy the learning process!

Could you talk briefly about Ho oponopono, how you apply it to your life and your work.

I think of Ho'oponopono as a meditative prayer - pure and profound. It's easy for me to get overwhelmed by all the suffering and injustice in the world, especially when I'm spending a lot of time finding content for ConsciousLifeNews. About 5 minutes repeating the Ho'oponopono phrases 'I'm Sorry, Please Forgive Me, Thank You, I Love You' helps me to remember that everyone living on this Earth - past, present and future -  is co-creating our shared reality. Everything is happening just as it should be, in perfect time, and there is no benefit to arguing with what is, as Byron Katie would say.
In session work, integrating the Ho'oponopono phrases into the EFT tapping rounds works really well for clearing out anger and resentment especially. Sometimes we know we should let another person off the hook, if only for our own healing, but we're just not ready to 'go there!'  Ho'oponopono seems to help people see a part of themselves reflected in the behaviors of others - an important step for personal growth.

What advice to have for those just finding out about their intuitive abilities for the first time?

Firstly to recognize that intuitive messages come in many forms. We all have dominant energy channels for communicating with the world, and for receiving love and information. If it isn't already clear to you that you're primarily oriented to the visual or kinesthetic, auditory or auditory-digital, take a few of the many online tests for 'learning types'. And try to remember back to times in your life when you had a knowingness that a person or a situation just wasn't right for you, and later it was confirmed that your hunch was correct. How did you know? Was it a voice, a premonition of how things would turn out, or a feeling - a chill or a twinge - someplace in the body? Start making a habit of asking your intuitive self for advice. Give him/her a face or a voice that you find pleasing and admirable. You might not get answers right away, but it's a good way to signal that part of you that it's time to reawaken!

How can people contact you for an Akashic reading or coaching?

They can contact me by email at eftcoachmichelle@gmail.com or send a Skype contact request to michelle.gabbe. I offer a free introductory telephone/video consult.

Mahalo for your time Michelle!
Love and Light,
Tricia
